Wave landscape patchwork - children

He worked on his wave landscape patchwork this evening. Next week he learns to create binding and to bind his art work. He picked fabrics from the random remnants box just to learn the technique.

. I told him that even though they are remnants to plan color placement. He said ok he will try but that he doesn't think that it will look like art. He sewed the strips together and ironed each one after sewing.

He then quilted over the entire piece to give it depth and texture.


It looks like rolling hills and the art piece becomes something else after it has been quilted.

He asked to use blue thread to give it a cohesive look

He chose blue for the binding and I said that he could use it as a table mat. His response was "NO! it looks like art I want it on the wall."
