Free Embroidery Equipment

I am still sorting threads and fabrics for my embroidery tutorials. I am also sorting tools and equipment and fabrics - free embroidery equipment.

I designate a box for a certain subject and it always get filled :)

I had thought that I had found all the threads that I have, and then began sorting my 4 seasons fabric box. I had prepared the box for some slow stitching tutorials that I created last year and I had forgotten that I had also placed seasonal colored threads in the boxes.

These I won't be sorting according to color rather, I will keep them sorted in designated boxes according to the 4 seasons with the boxes of seasonal sorted fabrics.

Next I organized the tools and equipment that I need for embroidery..

I found a key ring with a vintage sewing kit attached to it.

Needles. I have a huge selection in many different sizes, they are in a box for needles of course.

I created a very simple needle book made of scrap fleece and the needles are stuck in the pages of the fleece.

I also have a number of needle threaders - the simple kind that come together with the packet of needles.

These are brass. I saw an artistic silver beaded one on the internet last year and found the designer. Thimbles for You.

and of course some embroidery hoops

Last but far from least, a number of wax candles. I run the thread across them - especially the vintage enbroidery threads - this helps to prevent tangles and breakage when sewing.

the fabrics that I found in my supply were some light weight linen kitchen towels. A relatively loose weave for easy sewing. I cut off the outside frame and kept the white inner piece for the embroidery. The offcuts go to the scrap fabric pile for patchwork.

Also some school glue sticks which I will sometimes need to use to keep the fabrics in place when sewing.

Now to start creating. Follow to see what I do.
