I have created a number of Wave Landscape Patchwork techniques in PDF form as well as video tutorials and I have decided to create videos for all of the Wave Landscape Patchwork Techniques of which there are more to come.
The one that I am working on at the moment is the Wave Floral Garden Video. To create a video I need to create an art quilt, so I have been spending a few days choosing the color palette from my strip fabric box for the piece.
I had quite a large selection of purples and blues left over after completing the purple Wave Nova Star quilt and I decided to use those as well.
These are strips for the body of the piece in shades of blues and purples
And then I had a dillemma deciding which colors to use for the flowers themselves. i need 3 colors for each flower and I want the feel of the piece to be purple so I have six options to choose from.
Before doing that I create a sketch of what I see in my mind using colored pencils. That helps me to "see" on paper what I "see" in my head. Today was sunny so I sat outside listening to chirping birds while I sketched.
Now I am beginning to get a good idea of the color placement of the fabric strips.
Now to play with the fabric layout.
