The studio has moved! machines, boxes and boxes of fabrics and buttons and zippers and notions. Soon to be sorted and downsized.
I have begun gradually to try and find head or tail, not too successfully I must admit. I have a large designated studio area but no shelves are up yet, it is full of piles of boxes.
I have so many ideas in my head for new tutorials but first I have to sort and create some organization in the present havoc. I am an optimist by nature so I know it will be good :)
What I am doing to begin, is unpacking and washing what needs to be washed and finding surprises at the same time.
I am finding pieces that I created in the past. It is interesting for me as I have developed my technical skills and when I look at older products I see them with different eyes
I found a large crumb quilt that I had created with what I called milk and honey colors. Whites, off whiltes, pale golds and creams. Lots of sheets and tablecloths were used in this project. I had originally thought of using it as a bed spread, but who uses a bed spread these days. Products have to be practical. I am debating whether to take the large squares apart and create a light rag quilt from them. That will definitely be used.
On second thought when looking at it, it is quite beautiful and I think I will keep it as is to gift someone as a wedding quilt.
