They are making a large quilted patchwork pouch for all of their sewing supplies but it takes a while to complete it.
In between I like to give them quicker, more gratifying projects.
So today I decided to teach them how to make a simple lined zippered pouch decorated with fabric flowers and yoyos.
I had taught them last week how to make yoyos and flowers. In addition, I have a huge collection of yoyos that I have made so I decided to share some with them as well.
I wasn't at all surprised when they chose my pastel selection. Those are the colors that I see them wearing all the time.
They chose pink fabrics bold and light, for the body of the pouch and a white zipper each.
Two of them wanted the pale pink outside
And two of them wanted the dark pink outside.
They pinned the yoyos in place and I decided to teach them how to sew them down by machine and not by hand this time.
They ironed the pieces
She decorated both sides of her pouch with many yoyos and flowers
Sewed the zipper to all 4 pieces
They went home smiling with pink zippered pouches.
