Moving into the new studio is a mix of excitement and challenge. Right now, I’m surrounded by boxes, fabric piles, and sewing tools scattered everywhere.

While unpacking, my mind races with ideas for the coming year. This fresh space is not just a change of scenery—it’s a chance to explore new creative directions and bring long-thought projects to life. I want to share what’s ahead, especially for those who love upcycling and working with fabric, buttons, and hand stitching as much as I do.
Embellishing with Buttons and Hand Stitching
One of the main focuses in the new studio will be working extensively with buttons and hand stitching. These elements add a unique, tactile quality to fabric art and clothing.
Hand stitching, brings a personal touch that machines can’t replicate. It slows down the process in a good way, allowing me to connect with each piece. I plan to create tutorials that teach different hand stitching techniques. These will be useful for anyone wanting to add detail and texture to their projects.
New Series of Fashion Accessories and Art Clothing
Alongside the focus on buttons and stitching, I’m developing a new series of fashion accessories and art clothing. These pieces will blend wearable art with practical design. Think of scarves, bags, and jackets that feature hand-stitched details and button embellishments, making each item a statement piece.
The goal is to create accessories and clothing that stand out but remain functional. For example, a jacket might have hand-stitched floral motifs around the collar and cuffs, paired with vintage buttons that complement the color scheme. Or a bag could feature a patchwork of fabrics with hand-sewn buttons as decorative accents.
These projects will also include patterns and tutorials, so you can try making your own versions. These guides will help you add artistic touches to your wardrobe.
Israeli Scenery Art Quilts: A Long-Awaited Project
One of the most exciting projects I’ve been planning for a number of years is a series of Israeli scenery art quilts. These quilts will capture the landscapes, cityscapes, and landmarks of Israel through fabric and stitching. I’ve waited to move into this new studio because it offers the space and environment I need to focus on such detailed work.
These art quilts will combine traditional quilting techniques with elements like hand embroidery, appliqué, and button accents. Each quilt will tell a story, whether it’s the rugged beauty of the desert, the vibrant streets of Tel Aviv, or the ancient walls of Jerusalem.
I’ll share progress updates, behind-the-scenes looks, and detailed tutorials on how to approach landscape quilting. This series will be a resource for anyone interested in art quilts that go beyond patterns.
