Purple

My favorite color - in all of its shades and hues, is today's color prompt.

According to contemporary surveys in Europe and the United States, purple is the color most often associated with rarity, royalty, magic, mystery and piety.["

I am always drawn to working with and wearing purple. I find it to be a soothing, steady color. Coupled with yellow or orange one can create a stunning visual view. Pairing with browns give it a steady somber look.

For the #ourcolorsoftherainbow project I have a huge selection of purples to share with you.

My favorite technique for creating artquilts

Creating interest by adding pink and turquoise to the color mix. This could be framed and used as is, or as fabric for creating other items, bags or jewelry or even to embellish clothing.

My purples are endless. I use the remnants from other projects to create even more items.

A shirt jacket creating a peplum and edgings on the sleeves using some of Carol Kinney's tie dyes https://www.facebook.com/HighHopesDyes . They provide the perfect color accent to my projects.

Different shades of purple grouped together to create a fabric scarf.

And the smallest of pieces are used to create handmade fabric beads.

I have many more purple projects and items but I will save those for another time.
