Organizing a small studio can feel like a puzzle with too many pieces. When every inch counts, finding a system that keeps materials accessible and tidy is essential. I discovered that sorting by color not only brings order but sparks creativity in unexpected ways. This approach turns studio organization into an art project itself, where sorting colors for creativity becomes a source of inspiration.

Well I shared the moonlight Strip Collage Patchwork piece that I created recently and my sister saw it :) She said that she also wants one so I said ok I will gift it to you. She wants different colors :) A sunset this time.

I discussed colors with my students this week. One of them had a project where she had to paint a somber, serious, heavy landscape and she asked how to choose colors for that. She is a student who is always happy, dancing and laughing all the time and she said that she never feels sad so she is having a hard time choosing colors for the project.

Each one could be a standalone tutorial but I have incorporated them into one pdf of a wave landscape sunset. I am now going to create a video course which will most probably end up being 2 -3 videos as I have taken many shoots and would like to include detailed instructions in the videos.

Endless fabric scraps in many different sizes. I decided to make a 4 seasons series of one inch magic fabric pieces. So I sorted them into one inch pieces according to the 4 seasons. These fabrics can be framed and used as art pieces as is, or can be used as fabrics to create other products, bags, pouches, fabric bracelets or necklaces and can even be used to create pockets, collars and cuffs on shirts and jackets.

t was interesting to work on it. It is not exactly a flow of a the 4 seasons piece. What I see is leaves and flowers through the 4 seasons.

I always create challenges for myself. When I completed the 4 seasons series I had many scrap pieces left over. I wanted to make one piece with merging all the 4 seasons flowing through each other using only the scraps left over. The palette was limited so the first thing I did was to sort the fabrics into the seasons.

I have been sewing many art quilts in the last month and as a result have been left with a huge pile of fabric remnants. I spent today sorting them according to seasons and sizes for working on future projects. Winter was the last one that I worked on and as I sorted I noticed how many different shades there are of winter. I decided to do a sub sort of the really tiny pieces which I use to create ScrapFabric and fabric beads.

While working on my #45 wave landscape patchwork piece I looke at the fabrics and saw that I had a bunch of strips and wondered how many versions I could create today.

I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly the technique that I had envisioned in my mind of curvilinear spirals came together under the needle.
