Things Happen
I hadn't even noticed, I was so engrossed in sewing, that the bobbin had stopped filling up.
I dismantled the unit and found a surprise at the bottom. The rubber band on the bobbin winder had torn. Lesson learned things happen. These small inexpensive items can ground your flight. I will purchase a few and keep them in the tool box.

Even the small ones sew
This is what I was busy with this morning
I had gifted the neighbour 2 small sewing machines, actually mini ones for her small children to play with. Neither of them worked, so I told her to bring them over this morning for a check up and I would make sure that even the small ones sew..

Sewing again with a vintage machine
Unpacking and again going through my machines and finding surprises. I have had this little vintage sewing machine for a number of years and decided that its time to sew with it.

Vintage sewing machines
One of the things we do for students is check out their sewing machines.
Many of them have vintage sewing machines that have skipped a generation and been handed down to grandchildren. Parents want to provide the children with a working machine and especially enjoy using the ones that their parents used.
There is a large amount of sentimental value attached to grandmother's or grandfather's sewing machine. I should know, I have one.
