I have constructed the patchwork fabric pattern pieces. And now have to top stitch to secure them all in place. I will be washing the tunic of course, but will do so on a low temperature non-agitating wash as I don't want the pieces to fray.
The topstitching thread gives the pieces an overall wash of color. Here for my vest, I used pale orange for the top stitching thread
So after thinking about it and placing threads on the fabric to see what they looked like, I decided on purple - I would have preferred fuschia but I don't have any in my stash and I don't want to purchase anything for this project.
