Working on panels - 3
Now that I have the pattern I want to see the tunic finished!
I am doing it very systematically. I chose to begin working with the center front and center back panels. I will first piece all of them.
I am creating all the pieces with mosaic patchwork and will then heavily overquilt all the pieces. I will have to choose some music while I do this as it is quite repetitive.

Solved the dilemma - 2
Yesterday I was deliberating between a tunic and a coat. Using the mosaic patchwork technique to create fabric, creates a relatively stiff fabric. The fabric is strong and warm but I wanted pockets and sleeves and I solved the dilemma - 2.

Fabric Obsessions
This morning a friend on facebook asked in a post what our obessions are.
I was just thinking about that! Standing with a cup of coffee in my studio and looking at all the things that I have created this week. Making new fabric from scraps is what I would call my obsessions. It is the technique that I connect with the most.

Good Luck Amulet Pockets
The pockets are perfect, they are colorful and flat and I have made them all the same size so they fit very nicely into one side of my bag.
And then I thought why not share this idea. So I sat down and wrote a tutorial for Good Luck Amulet Pockets which should be done by this weekend.

Zero Waste Sewing Studio
We run sewing workshops where we teach sewing from scratch from children up to adults. All of the materials used in the sewing studio are upcycled and remnants from other projects. Nothing gets thrown away, even the smallest of pieces are used so the result is Zero Waste.

Painting with fabric
Many students can envision a landscape in their mind's eye, others need inspiration either from nature or from a picture. Some can paint the landscape as they go and others need to refer to a planned sketch.
One doesn't need any specialized fabrics to paint a landscape. There are treasures waiting in your scrap box for painting with fabric.

Children Sewing Quilts
One of the larger projects that the children learn to sew in their annual sewing class is a patchwork quilt.
About 3 months into the sewing year once they have mastered the machine and made a pillow, pouch and bag they take on a project that they will get much use from. They children are sewing bed sized patchwork quilts.
