When working on projects I keep all of the remnants. I store them according to size so that they are easily accessible for my various techniques and then I can use even the tinieset of pieces when I create.

It is fun to create art. It normally goes on the wall. I love it when art is given that added value factor by being incorporated into a useful item as well. I am going to share a few arty bags and clutches created by people and incorporating the wave landscape patchwork technique into the bags and pouches.

I love when people share with us the products they create incorporating our techniques. ave a class today, they finished their magic square pillows and the next project is the zippered pouch. One of the fun things is choosing the fabrics for the pouch. The students need to choose about 40 strips of fabic, they are going to sew a large quilted zippered pouch for all of their sewing tools for the lesson. They are given a container with all of the remnants created from other projects during the week. So every week there are new strips and colors that were not

So I thought a bit, how does one wear a blanket and still be able to move around, be warm, and work at the same time? I try not to turn the heating on, it dries the air and cost of heating is soaring as well. Its called a poncho. So I started researching making a poncho. Believe it or not I don't even own one. I found all kinds of ponchos on the internet, made from all sorts of fabrics and in all sizes. Of course I wasn't going to purchase any fabrics for a poncho.

The Sewing Course Q1 - The first three Sewing on a Machine The machine looks a bit daunting, they are going to sew by themselves?! Until they sit down and sew by themselves they don't really believe that they can. They are astounded and a bit in awe of what they can accomplish. And its only the beginning. The sewing machine is a tool that is designed to serve them and to be used by them to create wonderful items.

he children call them fluffy quilts. They name them very aptly. Taught a rag quilt class this week. I always create a sample while showing the students how it should be done. I worked on my quilts. I have 2 more for the guest room.

Birthdays - a time for retrospection and looking forward. Whenever a birthday comes around I look back and see what I have accomplished in the past year. How much I have developed in my techniques and where I have gone. What milestones I have reached and what decisions still to make.

This morning I decided to do a very simple but necessary mending job to create an elastic waistband on a pair of jeans.

Children must be taught to grow their own wings and how they will fly when they do! I have been working on bringing all my classes online in the format of pdf lessons with accompanying videos and am creating a sewing course to teach children sewing from A-Z.

It was a tremendous task to pack them so that the unpacking would be practical. I packed according to subject and marked the boxes accordingly so it is not that daunting. Now to get started setting up the studio.

We have just moved and my studio is still packed away. I have itchy fingers, I want to feel my fabrics and run my fingers through my piles of buttons. I miss having all that color around me. I msut get back into the studio and sit and sew on my machine.

I have been playing around with this idea for a while. To create wearables using my landscape patchwork techniques. My process takes a while. I think about it, experiment in my head, look at fabrics and then begin to play.

Its October already, skies are beginning to get cloudy and the evenings a bit cooler. Its time to make some t shirt tunics from that pile of t shirts which need to be upcycled. A pile of purples for the first t shirt tunic. Some stained, some small school shirts. I have been collecting purples for a while.

When teaching I make a point of only using upcycled and second hand fabrics. I teach deconstruction and reconstruction and use up every bit down to the threads so that there is no textile waste.
