I have made 5 different styles of fabric bags this last week and also decided to create a new carnival fabric. I don't purchase anything, not fabrics, or threads or notions. There is that supply that never ends. The Carnival boho fabric has lots of texture to it. I saw a colorful piece with lots of trims and detail.

I have a project this week. To create 5 bags and 5 tutorials for a new section in my store. I am busy taking all of the techniques and ideas I have in my head, creating items and writing tutorials for them. I have so many, every time I sit down more ideas come, I will always be busy.But its summer, an August afternoon , and the seaside calls. So I took a break yesterday and drove down to the beach. As I said before, I am on a roll. All those ideas and techniques that I have in my head are being created and then put down on paper or rather on the computer screen. I am working on a number ofnew boho bag tutorials at the same time so my table is covered in colors.

But lately I have been having many different clothing ideas. I love jewel colors so when I saw that I had lots of black, purple, pink, turquoise and green t shirt scraps, I decided to make a t shirt which I could use as an over shirt in autumn and winter.

I have MANY t shirt strips so I decided to make a shirt, which I originally thought of as having a cowl neck and 3/4 length sleeves, a more wintry piece. But I ended up making a shirt without a collar at all, and elbow length sleeves, some progress. It is too hot to wear in our Israeli summer but it will be perfect as a layering piece over a solid colored longer sleeved t shirt or even a t shirt with a collar.

Whenever I sort through my fabrics I come up with many different creative ideas. I find that I need a break from creating art techniques and wanted to create some practical pieces that still have that special touch. I looked at this pile of fabrics, lots of jewel tones in there. I added blacks and an interesting idea germinated. Something practical from scraps that I will get a lot of use out of.

I hadn't even noticed, I was so engrossed in sewing, that the bobbin had stopped filling up. I dismantled the unit and found a surprise at the bottom. The rubber band on the bobbin winder had torn. Lesson learned things happen. These small inexpensive items can ground your flight. I will purchase a few and keep them in the tool box.

In one of the groups that I am in on facebook we were asked if we have a pile of UFO's Unfinished Objects :) That got me thinking and I took a tour around my studio to see what my current situation is. I try very hard to focus as I really don't like living with piles of fabric out in the open. My home studio is an open space in the house so I try to keep things organized. Projects in boxes, not huge over flowing piles.

After working with striking sunset colors for 3 weeks I need a change of pace. Soft tranquil colors.

Each one could be a standalone tutorial but I have incorporated them into one pdf of a wave landscape sunset. I am now going to create a video course which will most probably end up being 2 -3 videos as I have taken many shoots and would like to include detailed instructions in the videos.

Each one shares from their abundance or their skills. I have skills :) and upcycled fabrics. So yesterday I decided to recreate and turn some sheets into 2 practical tote bags. Most times I use scraps from the students fabric box and can create crumb fabrics. This time I remembered that I had a box of long thin summer colored fabric strips. So I decided to create striped colorful patchwork fabric, to create a bag for sharing

I was very busy creating my wave sunset this week. first of all it took me ages to find the right colors in my scrap boxes.

This is my selection of sunset colors. I am going to sew and will see the result.

This is going to be one of the most challenging and ambitious pieces that I have attempted so far. A radiating sunset.

2 more classes to go till summer vacation and they have so many projects that they still want to finish sewing. This week they worked on finishing their projects, some worked on their aprons, some chose summery bright fabrics

It took a while for me to "see" this sunset, the color layout and the technique for how to get there but I have it now and I see lots of sewing and filming in the week ahead. I envision a glorious piece. That is how I do it, I see it first and then create.

Choosing the quilting colors is an art of itself. It can enhance or spoil the finished look of the quilt. For me it is always a challenge which color to choose. I see the way that it should look in my mind's eye and then I go to the box of threads that I have and see what is there.
